It's been a while since we did a full update, so let's get caught up on this exercise in democracy. Here's a summary of all the bills we've been working on this session:
HB0009 - Illegal fish stocking - Failed introduction in the House on a vote of 37-20-3. A mirror bill sponsored by Senator Burns has passed the Senate and been received in the House. We support that bill.
HB0018 - Aquatic invasive species-2 - Passed Committee of the Whole (CoW) in the Senate yesterday, and is up for second reading today. We support this bill.
HB0072 - Regulation of wind energy facilities - Passed Committee of the Whole (CoW) in teh Senate yesterday, and is up for second reading today. We are neutral on this bill.
HB0077 - Youth archery licenses - Passed Committee of the Whole (CoW) in the Senate yesterday, and is up for second reading today. We support the bill, and will continue to lobby on behalf of Bowhunters of Wyoming on this one.
HB0099 - Public records-wolf hunting licenses - This bill died when it failed to make it past the cutoff yesterday for bills to be heard in CoW in the second house.
HJR0008 - Opposition to Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act - This joint resolution has passed both houses and been signed by the Speaker as an enrolled act.
SF0043 - Game and fish special hunting season extension - This bill has passed both houses and been signed by the Speaker as an enrolled act.
SF0066 - Industrial siting amendments - This bill provides additional regulatory authority for wind energy development under the Industrial Siting Division at DEQ. It passed CoW in the House yesterday, and is up for second reading today. We support this bill.
SF0069 - Natural resources large projects - Passed Committee of the Whole (CoW) in the House yesterday, and is up for second reading today. We support this bill.
SF0078 - Illegal fish stocking - This is the mirror bill to HB0009, sponsored by Senator Burns. It passed Committee of the Whole (CoW) in the House yesterday, and is up for second reading today. We support this bill.
Both houses are on schedule to finish up buy Friday, though there remain some major differences in the budget bill to be resolved by then.
