On Saturday, June 8, 2024 folks are invited to join a volunteer fence removal day on Beaver Rim approximately 30 miles southwest of Lander, WY along Highway 287 at the old gravel storage area.
This project is our annual Fremont County habitat project that has been going on for 14 years strong. This year’s project is in partnership with Red Canyon Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Lander Bureau of Land Management office, with additional support from our friends Bowhunters of Wyoming.
This section of Beaver Rim hosts a year-round elk population, mule deer, and is a main thorofare for the Twin Creek Sage-grouse population.
Removing these obsolete fences will provide a lot of help for animals getting around here. Meet at 8 am at the Gravel Pit on Beaver Rim before going to the project site.
Volunteers should bring fencing pliers, work gloves, rain gear, sun protection, and water bottles. Extra supplies will be on site.
Lunch, additional water, and snacks will be provided.
