Frozen breakouts
Time: 10-15 minutes + freeze time
Materials: small plastic toys
Activity: Freeze small plastic toys into blocks of ice, 1 per kid. Tell kids that their toys have been taken prisoner and they have to break them out! Present kids with a variety of breakout devices (rocks, spray bottles of warm water, toy or small hammers or other pounding objects). Other tactics might be dropping the ice on the ground or melting it with their hands or another heat source. Prep with safety talks around how to be careful with their blocks and tools around other kids as well as rules around claiming and sharing tools according to your class rules. Allow kids to break out and play with the toys.
