Rope walks
Time: 10-45 minutes
Materials: length of rope or string 20-50 feet, blindfolds (optional)
Activity: String the rope between two stationary objects. This works best with uneven ground or different things to walk through/over. Tell kids they will be trying to walk without their sense of sight. Have kids put on a blindfold or close their eyes and put one hand on the rope, feeling their way forward carefully. Once they have all crossed the rope, discuss how they moved their body and things that they noticed with their other senses when their eyes were closed. Kids usually want to repeat this activity.
