Water relay races
Time: 15-20 minutes
Materials: containers that can hold water or snow (1 per kid)
Activity: Divide kids into teams of 4-5. Give each kid a container (it can be fun to have some really big containers and some smaller ones). Decide on a race course with a start and finish line and station kids at even intervals along the course (1 at the starting line). Pour an equal amount of water (or snow) into the container for the starter of each team. Explain that the goal of the race is to run to the next person and pour the water/snow into their container. The winning team is the one with the most water/snow at the end, not the fastest. Run the race and repeat as there is interest. Math bonus: Use a measuring cup and model measuring the amounts of water/snow.
