WWF Hires Craig Benjamin as Executive Director

Dear Members, Supporters, and Friends,

On behalf of the Wyoming Wildlife Federation, I take great pleasure in announcing that we have hired Craig Benjamin to lead our organization as Executive Director. Many of you know Craig from his extensive experience as a conservation leader in Wyoming and across the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Importantly, Craig served as Director of Conservation Partnerships at the National Wildlife Federation for five years, providing leadership for WWF on strategic planning, policy guidance, philanthropy efforts, community engagement and collaboration with partner organizations and funders. I credit Craig's previous work with helping us shape our current infrastructure, expand our footprint and guide our shared vision in all corners of Wyoming to support thriving wildlife populations, intact habitat and our Wyoming way of life.

“This is truly an honor,” Craig said. “I’ve long admired the Wyoming Wildlife Federation for its pragmatic leadership and its ability to unify hunters, anglers, and conservationists across the state. I look forward to collaborating with our members, staff, partners, and policy makers to build on the efforts of so many before me, and to help lead WWF into our next era.”

Jess Johnson, WWF's Gov't Affairs Director, who is currently in Washington, DC engaging with our lawmakers to protect our public lands, also wanted to share her thoughts. "Craig is the kind of leader that will take WWF to even greater heights. He is a long time supporter of our work and our voice, and will strive to strengthen our mission from Day One. He is a leader I am honored to work with and look forward to his energy, knowledge, and passion for Wyoming."

With Craig's capabilities, I am confident WWF will continue our unparalleled upward trajectory and further deepen our 87 year legacy. We are poised to build on recent accomplishments and be the most effective conservation organization uniquely dedicated to Wyoming. Craig shares our passion, work ethic and high expectations. While he has already jumped in enthusiastically, Craig's official start date will be July 8, 2025. He will be splitting his time between our Lander headquarters and our office in Jackson.

Please join me in welcoming Craig to our team. And as always, thank you for your enduring support and trust in our work.

Respectfully,

Chris Simonds
