STEP 1: PREPARE ANIMAL FOR PROCESSING
Field dress your harvest as you would normally and get the carcass cooled down as soon as possible to prevent any meat spoilage. Make sure you have all necessary license and tag information accompanying the animal at the time of processing.

Hunters may donate portions of their harvest or the whole animal: hunters that donate their whole animal will have 100% of their processing fees covered. Partial donations are welcomed but will not be eligible for free processing. Please indicate your animal is a donation for the Hunter's for the Hungry program when dropping it off for processing.
STEP 3: HOLE FOOD RESCUE DISTRIBUTES
Hole Food Rescue sees more than 15,000 annual visits to its no-cost grocery programs. Here, the most valuable item distributed is game meat due to its high value and low supply. Game meat donations will go a long way to allowing community members to nourish themselves with high-quality meat.
Do I need to test my ANIMAL for Chronic wasting disease?
If your harvest is a deer, elk, or moose, be sure to bring the head and upper neck portion of your animal to a check station or a Game and Fish regional office to submit lymph nodes for testing. This will ensure that the proper sample is collected, and shipped to the WGFD laboratory. A record of the sample can be easily found online.
BISON AND PRONGHORN DO NOT NEED CWD TESTING AND ARE ENCOURAGED FOR DONATION

Hole Food Rescue’s (HFR) mission is to reduce food waste and cultivate food security. HFR rescues an average of 30,000 pounds of food per month otherwise destined for the landfill and redistributes this food to the community through its no-cost grocery programs, hosted nine times weekly.
