Bird nest hunt
Time: 10-15 minutes
Materials: 6 faux nests or printouts of nests (can color each nest to add color to counting skills)
Activity: Hide the 6 nests Easter egg style before the activity. Tell kids birds use nests to help protect their eggs from predators. Nests can be in trees, bushes, grass, or on the ground, but birds want to hide them carefully to keep their eggs safe. Have kids head out to find the nests that are hidden in your outdoor space.” Set space and time boundaries and let kids hunt for the nests. After, ask which nests were best hidden and why.
