Camo at the Capitol

Save the date — February 13, 2025

Bringing hunters and anglers together and building an effective and informed advocacy voice is the mission for the Camo at the Capitol program. The program includes advocacy training and legislative action days at the Wyoming State Capitol, all aimed at cultivating a strong conservation voice for sportsmen and women, culminating in lasting policy changes that benefit wildlife and our sporting heritage.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR CAMO AT THE CAPITOL ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2025!

Camo at the Capitol provides an opportunity for hunters, anglers, and other conservationists to exercise their public voice. Attendees will learn the ins and out’s of the legislative process, including bill creation, tracking, and ultimately its passing (or not passing) into law. Those who attend will not only learn the skill necessary for communicating with lawmakers but will also have the opportunity to speak directly with elected officials as they lobby for specific bills affecting the hunting and angling community.

Gas reimbursements are available for attendees who carpool with at least two Camo at the Capitol attendees.

We're also looking for additional volunteers! If you would like to make a wild game appetizer at the Legislative Reception, contact Jess Johnson at jessijohnson@wyomingwildlife.org

Outreach and Local Engagement

Local engagement in communities throughout the state is crucial in cultivating an informed and empowered conservation voice for Wyoming.

Through our work in policy, advocacy, and public initiatives, we strive for management protocols that are sustainable for the wildlife, ecosystems, and the human economies that they effect.

Wyoming’s roadways see some of the highest rates of vehicle/ wildlife collisions anywhere in the United States. Working to reduce the hazard not only benefits wildlife but, also greatly helps reduce the number of human fatalities and injuries.

The Wyoming Wildlife Federation makes decisions, creates campaigns, and forms initiatives based on the best available wildlife and habitat science.
